I wrote this 29-page tutorial with an absolute beginner in mind, meaning: Anyone who hasn't got much of a clue how to use Photoshop, or how to even start using it as a painting tool (because I got extremely tired of having to answer the same questions over and over).
For a full list of what it includes, read the list below.
I hope it helps, and if it did, any feedback would be appreciated, since it took me about a month to put it together. =]
The things this tutorial goes through are as follows:
Basic PS Settings Scratch Disk Settings Opening a new file & Canvas Settings Changing Colours Canvas Sizes Docking Palettes
PS Brushes Which Brushes to use? Basic settings Installing Brush Sets Loading Brush Sets Making Custom Brushes

Use of Colour Grass isn't always green Colour Theory (by Socar Myles)

Painting Do I need to be able to draw to paint in PS? Pre-painting sketches - yes or no? Basic detailed painting steps Saving your Painting Special: Evil Tools (not to be taken all that seriously!)
ah! I saw the live version at raster and wondered if I should manually save every page. Thanks so much for providing an easier package. THis reference is priceless.

As for feedback. This tutorial has taught me so much. Namely, not using black and white for shading / highlighting, and the tablet exercises, and also the cube and sphere exercises.
Socar's pages were awesome too.
The whole thing is beyond awesome. I don't know how to tell you how much I like it.
